The Church Choir

The choir has a variety of responsibilities. Our primary role is to support and enhance the congregation in singing Praise and worship songs. As such, the choir becomes an important leader in Praises during any church activity, as part of our main task, we gather and assemble in prayer and praise through songs to edify the body of Christ.

The Church choir is the collection of talented individuals that are trained to lead   the congregation during services. Most of the choirs are church members that are called to serve in this Department.

The Church Choirs thoroughly rehearse the hymns to be sung in the Praises, worship, Weddings, Baptisms, Holy Communion and any other special events, we also assist the assembly as a way forward to learn new songs; if the congregation is to learn new music swiftly and accurately, the choir takes a lead.

The District Choir with Church Officials

The church choir is blessed with excellent singers, and in addition to leading Sunday Praise and worship. Our choir has a yearly Praise Night which  takes place at the Surrey Docks District Headquarter, this give the choir a chance to prepare an extended work singing variety of songs to contribute to the spiritual growth of the congregation. Few guest musicians are also invited to grace the occasion. This is a wonderful event that  includes all choristers from the branches such as CAC Welling, CAC Leyton, CAC Gravesend, CAC Hastings, CAC Belgium and all others to mention a few.

Bro Caleb Adekeye (Choir Master)

Our Church choir provides an indispensable leadership for Praise and worship and continues to require encouragement by the congregation through their attendance at events.  The Church choirs are enthusiastic, we understand our role, and approach our tasks with a sense of commitment to lead the church through the songs for Praises and worship in order to bring the congregation to the presence of God.

The membership includes variation of different age groups which is open to any church member who has been baptized by immersion. Our weekly choir rehearsals take place mostly on Saturdays from 3.30 -6.30pm.
The Choir serves the purpose of setting the tone for worshiping and praising God and, to minister to all meeting the needs of every individual through song, hymn, and spiritual selections letting Word of Christ dwell in us richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with all grace in our hearts to the Lord (Colossians 3:16).
